Touched by Olivia is fortunate to have the support of national organisation, Stockland. We are working with teams in both retail and residential areas to encourage greater inclusion in play. It is our goal that all new Stockland projects will include a Livvi’s Place, and that we can continue to work with the retail teams to ensure that shopping centre experiences are inclusive and fun for everyone, regardless of their age or ability.
Since launching our partnership in 2013, Stockland and Touched by Olivia have delivered an inclusive playspace at Stockland Forster and opened the first Livvi’s Cafe, a social enterprise cafe. Stockland donated the building that has enabled us to launch this important pilot, with three goals:
- Touched by Olivia is financially self sustainable
- Daily programs are run from Livvi’s Cafe
- We hire young people with disabilities to work in the cafe, giving meaningful employment opportunities.
Stockland have also generously donated over $30,000 to Touched by Olivia to help us to run our organisation, as all money we raise goes directly to projects. This generosity enables us to continue to expand Livvi’s Place National Network.
How does it work? Both organisations believe that inclusion is critical and is embedded in good design. Stay tuned for more fantastic projects out of this very special partnership.
