Touched by Olivia runs a network of social enterprises called Livvi’s Cafe.
The purpose of Livvi’s Cafe is to activate, employ and include.
- We provide regular programs a Livvi’s Place for inclusive playspaces.
- We provide employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities.
- We ensure that Touched by Olivia has a sustainable funding stream—a donation is made with every cup of coffee sold.
“Sometimes when people with disabilities aren’t involved in work, they sit at home too much and don’t interact with others enough,” said Livvi’s Cafe Elara operator, Brendon Coombes.
“A lot of people’s social lives come from work. This is about getting them involved in life and keeping it going so that it blossoms”
Livvi’s Cafes are now open in the following locations:
| Livvi’s Cafe Five Dock
Henley Marine Drive, Five Dock, NSW
| Livvi’s Cafe Elara
Elara Boulevard, Blacktown, NSW
Meet the team
Joey Close has been working at Livvi’s Cafe Five Dock in our transition to work program. One of the outcomes of our social enterprises is to give young people with disability opportunity to train in hospitality. We’ve been so impressed by Joey’s dedication, enthusiasm and ability that we offered him a job when he finished his training this week. Joey now works with us at Livvi’s Cafe every Friday and Saturday.
Damian undertook work experience at Livvi’s Cafe Five Dock as part of his education from Giant Steps College, working every Wednesday at Livvi’s Cafe. Damian loved learning to make chocolate milkshakes, and improved his coffee making skills while honing general hospitality tasks like cleaning, stocking and serving. Damian is now working at Giant Steps in house coffee club program serving food and drink to parents, staff and visitors.
